Our Comprehensive Curriculum
- From Theory to Tactical Response -
Our curriculum is built on a foundation of science and tactical application. Fostering a Culture of Support:
Addressing Responder Mental Health
There is a growing recognition of the mental health crisis affecting first responders. The demands of their work—prolonged exposure to trauma, high-stress environments, and often limited access to effective support—have led to increased rates of burnout, depression, PTSD, and suicide among emergency personnel. Addressing this crisis with compassion, responsibility, and innovative approaches is a pressing priority.

As part of this commitment, the First Responder Coalition (FRC) can offer optional informational sessions designed to educate personnel about emerging legal mental health tools, including the therapeutic use of psilocybin within the legal frameworks of Oregon and Colorado. These sessions are entirely separate from any emergency response training and are intended solely to provide evidence-based information for those who wish to explore these options for their own personal well-being.

It is important to emphasize that these offerings are strictly educational. FRC does not provide therapy, treatment, or substances, nor does it encourage or discourage use. The goal is to destigmatize the conversation around alternative mental health pathways and to connect interested individuals with legal, vetted, and reputable resources in jurisdictions where such options are available.

Above all, FRC is committed to upholding the integrity of each department’s policies and chain of command. All efforts are made in alignment with local regulations, professional standards, and the discretion of agency leadership.
