For Responders

Our mission is to educate and empower first responders about the mental health benefits of psilocybin as a transformative treatment for trauma. Through targeted training and resources, we equip first responders with the knowledge and tools to explore psilocybin’s therapeutic potential, fostering healing, resilience, and renewed well-being in their high-stress profession.

As an initiative of PATA (Psilocybin Assisted Therapy Association), the First Responder Collective provides trusted, evidence-based information and support for those on the front lines seeking relief (PTSD, depression, and anxiety), healing and growth. Our mission is to educate, empower, break the stigma, and offer safe, informed paths to healing for our fellow First Responders.

The First Responder Collective:

By Responders, For Responders.

First Responder Collective (FRC) is a nonprofit initiative under the Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy Association (PATA), founded by and for the first responder community. We serve those who serve others, with two critical goals: (1) providing education on psilocybin’s mental health benefits within legal frameworks (Oregon & Colorado), and (2) training first responders in psychedelic emergency protocols—ensuring safety and compassion during crisis interventions.

The need has never been greater. First responders face unprecedented rates of PTSD, depression, and suicide, yet stigma often blocks access to innovative treatments. At the same time, as psilocybin therapy becomes more available, agencies need protocols to handle psychedelic-related calls safely. FRC addresses both sides of this challenge: empowering responders to heal themselves while preparing them to assist others with competence and care. Whether you’re an individual seeking resources or an agency updating policies, we’re here to help you navigate this new frontier—because those who protect our communities deserve solutions that work.

Dedicated to Our Frontline Heroes

FRC serves all members of the first responder community—active and retired—including Firefighters, Paramedics, EMTs, Law Enforcement Officers, and Dispatchers. We recognize the unique pressures each role faces and provide tailored resources to address trauma, burnout, and mental health challenges through psilocybin education and crisis response training. No matter your agency or background, if you’ve dedicated your life to serving others, this is your space to heal and grow.

Addressing a Critical Need in the First Responder Community

First responders are 5x more likely to experience PTSD and depression than the general public — yet only 20–30% seek treatment due to stigma, fear of job repercussions, and lack of trauma-informed care options.

First responders face disproportionately high rates of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and suicide—a silent crisis fueled by stigma, chronic stress, and lack of access to innovative treatments. With psilocybin services now legal in Oregon and Colorado, a new challenge emerges: bridging the information gap for responders seeking healing and preparing crews to handle psychedelic-related emergencies safely. FRC exists to meet this dual need—providing science-backed education to reduce stigma while developing specialized protocols for psychedelic crisis response. Because those who protect our communities deserve care as courageous as they are.

You Are Not Alone:
Fostering Connection & Support

Healing happens together. For first responders, the weight of trauma can feel isolating—especially when stigma discourages open conversations about mental health. That’s why peer support and shared understanding are at the heart of FRC. We create a safe, judgment-free space where responders can connect with others who truly ‘get it,’ breaking down the isolation that too often accompanies the job. Through guided discussions, educational resources, and trauma-informed training, FRC fosters a community where healing is collective, knowledge is empowering, and no one has to face the journey alone.
